My son playing at our colored water table.
The purple and orange water for the day.
I don't know if anyone else had the same sand and water table experience I did, but one side sand and the other water got all mixed together and they both had the same mucky mix of watery sand. That was the first and last time we put both sand and water in the table. We now use it as just a water table, but just this week I had a great idea. We colored the water with food coloring. The kids were so excited to play with the different colored water and then mix the colors together to make new ones. I first day we had ocean blue and red. Today we are doing orange and purple (even though it looks blue in the picture.) I just fill a 2 liter pitcher with water and add 4-5 drops food coloring to the pitcher and stir. Yes that easy. I takes about 3 pitchers full for each side, but not too time consuming. Wish I would have thought of this earlier in the summer.
